Natural Remedies for Nappy Rash
Nappy rash can come up from time to time for some and more often for others. Many remedies are shared anecdotally and really help.
Many people worry that cloth nappies will have their children suffer nappy rash more often. There is no scientific evidence that this is the case (see our other blog posts on nappy rash with scientific references) but all children are different. Some children are prone to nappy rash and others are not.
With one of our children we noticed she only had nappy rash when she ate way too many grapes and some customers at TUTI have told me they have the same issue. So check in on the diet too-
One friend mentioned to me that cornflour helped to keep the area dry - THANK YOU! This really helped when moist based solutions were not helping us progress.
Sometimes - friends can be so kind to share their natural remedy with you. We were gifted a batch of Tom's home remedy and we've asked it we can share it with you: so here it is!
Other natural remedies sworn by:
- Browned flour
- Cocount oil
- Olive oil
- Cornflour (as mentioned) - really helped for us
- Tea tree oil in the bath
- A cup of apple cider vinegar in the bath
- Creating a spray with witch hazel and water
- Kawakawa balm
Best of luck if nappy rash does come into your life!
